I refer to myself as a reluctant geek who deep fries words. I guess that makes me technically a chef of sorts. I’ve been toying with technology for 22+ years … I currently teach IT to college students as my day job. At night when I can peel one or more of my 5 offspring from my ankles, I write inspirational fiction. I make my home in Kansas but dream of residing in the Colorado Rockies.

I love words. I love cooking words into story. I love it that we have a supernatural God who gives us a taste for story. I love ‘HIS WORD’.

Though a confirmed book-aholic, I also enjoy bicycling, travel, long walks in the country, technology, theology, thunderstorms, the mountains, my bodacious family and of course reading and writing. Listening to music and reflecting on the sheer capacity of creativity unleashed by God in whatever manner he so ordains, is unmitigated bliss.

I’m simply one of a bazillion characters on God’s stage, a walk-on, and playing a part at this moment in time per God’s sovereign will. I’m oft times confused, bewildered, astonished, and certainly humbled to be part of this current production – just a jot or tittle before the grand show of eternity.

It’s my hope to bring glory to God through the illumination of stories that show beauty, hope, and grace – from GOD’s perspective, and reveal what might otherwise go unnoticed – such as demonstrating people’s capacity to stand and deliver when struck by passion or grasping a thread of grace in dire situations. Sometimes stories can be a bit grimy for awhile before God intervenes supernaturally to guide us to clean things up.

Monumentally blessed I am, with 5 wonderful kids and a terrific wife who graciously put up with my word play.

This blog then is a proving ground, tryouts, an audition, an adventure, or journey in finding my voice along the road less traveled. I look forward to making friends along the way and invite your company in joining me. “Life is dire but hope is just around the corner.”
